Poet, fiction writer, and Civil War historian Ron Roth's newest collection of poetry, You Are A Radiant Dawn, works in an elegiac lyrical mode to reveal a sharp, steady and contemplative mind searching, and revealing the painful beauty of a well-observed life.
-Tony Morris, director, Ossabaw Island Writer's Retreat
Roth's poetry captures the American meditation. His nostalgia is one always of homecoming, of warm embrace, of the return of those memories of light that so often guide us in our wandering. His writing insists that these memories will go on beyond our taking part in them, for they are "remnants of a perfect life."
-Isaac Oplanic, poet, South Carolina Bards
These are necessary poems - tender, perceptive homages to family. They celebrate the myriad beauties of this world. . . In each poem, Ron Roth brings to us a keen eye and sharp ear.
-Susan Meyers, the South Carolina Poetry Book Prize winner
In these well-turned poems, Ron Roth explores the many layers of meaning and memory that lay beneath the surface beauty of any landscape. Roth does a beautiful job of bringing lost worlds into vivid focus in a way that inhabits the world of today, creating a "delicate clamor" of timelessness.
-William L. Ramsey, PhD, Professor of History and poet, Lander University
