STANDING IN THE GAP
The Ministry of the Intercessor
What if the greatest ministry in your church is one that few people ever see?
Throughout history, every great move of God has been preceded by believers who faithfully sought His face. They were not always pastors, missionaries, or public leaders. Many were ordinary Christians who quietly knelt before God, carrying the burdens of others to the throne of grace.
In Standing in the Gap, Pastor Tony issues a heartfelt challenge to every believer to rediscover the forgotten ministry of intercessory prayer.
Drawing from Scripture, personal ministry experiences, and the timeless truths of God's Word, this book explores what it means to answer God's call to "stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30). Rather than presenting prayer as merely another Christian discipline, Pastor Tony reveals it as one of the greatest privileges and responsibilities entrusted to God's people.
Through biblical examples including Abraham, Moses, Samuel, Daniel, Paul, Epaphras, and, ultimately, the Lord Jesus Christ, readers will discover how God has always worked through faithful men and women who were willing to pray.
More than a study on prayer, this book is an invitation to:
- Develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Understand the biblical ministry of intercession.
- Learn how God burdens His people to pray.
- Discover the power of standing in the gap for others.
- Strengthen your family, church, and community through faithful prayer.
- Leave a spiritual legacy that will outlive your lifetime.
Also woven throughout these pages are inspiring testimonies of God's faithfulness, including the remarkable story of how the Lord miraculously provided property for ChristWay Baptist Church-an unforgettable reminder that the God who answered prayer in Scripture is still answering prayer today.
Whether you are a new believer seeking to deepen your prayer life or a seasoned Christian longing for renewed spiritual purpose, Standing in the Gap will encourage, challenge, and inspire you to become the kind of believer God is still seeking.
If you have ever wondered...
"Can God really use someone like me?"
...this book will point you to the answer found in His Word.
The need has never been greater.
The invitation has never changed.
God is still looking for someone to stand in the gap.
Will He find you?
