Professor Chuanling Si is currently a distinguished professor at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He obtained his PhD in 2006 in the field of wood chemistry from Kangwon National University, Korea. In the same year, he joined the faculty of Tianjin University of Science and Technology as an associate professor and became a professor in 2011. He is a group leader at of State Key Laboratory of Bio-based Fiber Materials in Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He has been elected and admitted as a Life-time Fellow of the Engineered Science Society (USA).His research focuses on the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to functional materials (e.g., electrodes, battery separators, electromagnetic interference shielding materials, photothermal conversion materials, and sensors

Professor Ting Xu is currently a distinguished professor at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2020. In the same year, she joined the faculty of Tianjin University of Science and Technology and became a professor in 2024. In 2025, she was awarded Alexander von Humboldt Foundation research fellowship (Germany). Her current research focuses on cellulose-based nanocomposites, exploring their potential applications in flexible supercapacitors, fibrous batteries, and multifunctional flexible polymer electrolyte

Dr. Tairan Pang currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Light Industry Technology and Engineering at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He earned his PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research centers on lignocellulosic biorefining as well as the preparation and application of lignocellulose-based adsorption and separation materials

Dr. Kun Liu is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Light Industry Technology and Engineering at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. from Tianjin University of Science and Technology after completing joint doctoral training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (USA), where he gained valuable international research experience. His research focuses on pulping and papermaking, as well as the structural design and multifunctional applications of lignocellulose-based flexible electronics and conductive composites. In particular, he has been involved in the development of lignocellulosic materials for electromagnetic interference shielding

Dr. Liyu Zhu is currently an assistant professor of Light Industry Technology and Engineering at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He obtained his PhD in the field of biomass chemistry from Beijing Forestry University. His current research focuses on the engineering, functionalization, and potential sustainable uses of lignocellulose (cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin) and its potential sustainable applications, particularly in addressing challenges in the material-energy-environmental and rechargeable battery separator
