In the world of autism, Tony Attwood needs no introduction. Nicknamed the “World Guru” of autism, with nearly 1,000,000 books sold, he also conducts workshops and clinics world-wide, Tony is currently an adjunct Professor at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. His biography is a profound human journey into autism and its history, and reveals the humility, persistence, and compassion that helped shape best global practices for autism.
Tony’s story is integral with the unfolding history of the worldwide understanding and social acceptance of the autistic mind over the last sixty years. His writings, insights, examples and enthusiasm have helped shape the best clinical practices for autism today. The impact of Tony’s achievements and actions will resonate for many more decades, potentially centuries. He continues to inspire others into action and impacts the future of autism by mentoring the next generation of clinical psychologists. Not one to rest on his laurels, Tony is still exploring and continually learning, specifically temporal lobe dementia, aging, and its connection with autism.
