Dr. Fernando Guastaldi received his DDS in 2006 from the Dental School of Ribeirão Preto in Brazil. He is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery and earned a Master of Science in 2010 and a PhD in 2013 in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the Dental School of Araçatuba in Brazil. He was a visiting scholar in the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics at New York University College of Dentistry in 2012. He completed two postdoctoral research fellowships, the first at the Dental School of Araraquara in Brazil from 2014 to 2017 and the second at the Skeletal Biology Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2017 to 2019.

Dr. Guastaldi is an Assistant professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and director of the Skeletal Biology Research Center in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Surgery, at Massachusetts General Hospital. His work bridges clinical surgery, biomaterials science, translational research and regenerative medicine, with a focus on bone and cartilage tissue engineering.

Dr. Guastaldi has published peer-reviewed articles on bone tissue engineering, temporomandibular joint regeneration and artificial intelligence. He is an editor of Bone Tissue Engineering: Bench to Bedside Using 3D Printing  (Springer, 2022). His research interests include bone tissue engineering, TMJ regeneration, biomaterials for craniomaxillofacial regeneration, dental implants and artificial intelligence.

Shruti Handa attended Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University, New Delhi, where she received her BDS (Bachelor in Dental Surgery) degree in 2009. She received her DMD degree in 2015 from the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Boston University. She then completed her residency in Orofacial Pain at Massachusetts General Hospital /Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2020. She is currently an assistant professor in Orofacial Pain, Department of OMFS, MGH/HSDM, where she maintains a full-time clinical practice in Orofacial Pain, trains residents and predoctoral dental students, and pursue research in temporomandibular joint disorder and neuropathic orofacial pain conditions.

David Alexander Keith attended Guy’s Hospital Dental School, University of London, where he received his BDS degree in 1966. He obtained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1970 and his DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1983. He is a Corresponding Member of the Faculty (formerly Professor) of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at HSDM and Visiting OMFS at MGH. He is retired from clinical practice and continues to pursue his interests in temporomandibular joint disorders and Orofacial pain.
