The apical third of the root canal system is a critical region whose anatomical complexity significantly influences endodontic outcomes. Variations such as the apical constriction, accessory canals, apical deltas, and apical foramen configurations present challenges in diagnosis, cleaning, shaping, and obturation. Continued research and technological innovations are expected to further enhance treatment outcomes and long-term endodontic success.
