Asian Contextual Theology for the Third Millennium Theology of Minjung in Fourth-Eye Formation

Professor Paul S. Chung is assistant Professor of Lutheran Confessions and World Christianity. He came to Wartburg in 2005 after teaching at the Graduate Theological Union and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, CA. He is a widely known lecturer in South-Korea. In addition to being the author of Martin Luther and Buddhism: Aesthetics of Suffering, he has published many articles in Religious Journals, including Dialog, Theology and Science, and the Journal of Asian Theology. Chung is primarily interested in extending and deepening the horizons of Reformation theology in an Asian interreligious context. He teaches courses in Lutheran confessions, theology of mission, and Asian contextual Theology. His theological interests include the theology of Lutheran confessions, the theology of Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Asian Contextual Theology of Minjung and World Religions, and the Theology of Religions. He also has served 10 years as a parish pastor in the ELCA congregation of Orinda, California.
