When a kiss changes everything

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

This book tells us the love story of Aurora and Deacon in the first person by each protagonist. This is something I appreciate a lot because that's the only way I get to know the FMC and the MMC the deepest by living literally in their heads and with all their emotions. It gives me the chance to feel with them and root for them to get together or just to understand their actions. I loved to get to know Aurora and Deacon, they're a lot like opposites but on the same time they do have some common aspects. I like Deacons blunt way. You'll always know the path with him. There's no second guessing. I felt it refreshing. Clearly there's space for other issues to be discussed. I felt Deacon as a real and reliable character with a clear and strong evolved path. He clearly is gettingto be a brighter and lighter character. And the factor of being a dad made him more human and closer. I love the scenes with Willow. How cute is this girl?! Our FMC Aurora starts as a wallflower but she has some deeper going things in her life that she's carrying alone. She doesn't want to intrude in other people's life's and I could totally get her point. She reacts exactly as a lot of other women would do, I'm no exception, which made me even feel more deeper what she's going through. And as short the topic is put in the line, its exactly the right amount to understand Auroras Point of view, her fears and hopes. I feel this kind of topics are important and there are still people who want to avoid talking about this. I'm relieved that time is making it possible for it to be exposed in a book and generally in romance. Let's say, I was there every single moment and I'm so happy how things go through the end. They simply just deserve the best. I could write this review without writing about the chemistry... This is a definitely good chemistry. It's starts later than I expected but it's the right amount in the perfect timing. Oh my gosh! This is so freaking hot. Literally this is the good way of spice. It's still light but the temperature gets high. The kiss(es) alone are good as they come. |||||||||||||||| This Spice-Level is 4/5 ||||||||||||||| Conclusion: A great emotional story about two people realizing, they need to get over their own fears to create a beautiful future together. ||||||||||||||||||| Information for nonative English readers: It's easy to follow the story. There aren't many words someone needs to look up. I had only one where I wasn't sure about. ||||||||||||||||||||| Information: This book is the first in the series and it has some cameos of our most beloved heros of other series by Louise Bay. Just to mention one: Worth (no need for more words, right?). ||||||||||||||||||| Book 1: Manhattan Kiss (Aurora & Deacon) Book 2: Fifth Avenue Flirt (Avrils & Ben) |||||||||||||||||| Each book is a STANDALONE with its own story about a pair. For a better contextualisation it's best to read them in Order. Book description: Thirty-six, and somehow I'd become the supporting character in everyone else's love story. I never left my village in England except for university. Never took the risk. Then one phone call from New York and one piece of news I couldn't outrun sent me across an ocean for a three-month trial at Hotel on Ninth Street. And my one shot at finally starring in my own life. I lasted exactly six minutes before a gorgeous, glowering stranger slammed into me, drenched my shirt in coffee, and stalked off without so much as sorry. Of course Deacon Black is the hotel's most important guest. Of course he's there every week. And of course he's a fiercely protective single dad whose entire life is built around never letting anything - or anyone - shake his daughter's world. I'm leaving in three months. He doesn't do temporary. Falling for him is the worst possible use of my brand-new fresh start. So why does it feel like walking away is the biggest risk of all? A standalone, spicy, single dad, billionaire romance.
