This handbook, edited by founding members of the Humanities Podcast Network (HPN), takes stock of the state of podcasting within the humanities today. More than 80 authors from the diverse community of humanities podcasters have drawn on their practical knowledge making podcasts and/or teaching podcasting to offer theoretical reflections. Our shared investment in the podcast medium reflects a desire to expand beyond the written text into an oral/aural form where humanistic thinking is not a solitary endeavor but a collective conversation, including voices with a wide range of identities, demographics, institutional affiliations and career paths within and beyond academia. Each section of the book covers a major topic in humanities podcasting and is accompanied by an audio episode in which the authors gather together to discuss their chapters and offer audiences a space to hear the ideas of humanities podcasting in action.
