It is one of the most important plays by the English writer William Shakespeare, written in 1600 or 1602. It is one of the most frequently performed, produced, and printed plays.
Hamlet is Shakespeare's longest play and one of his most powerful tragedies. It is considered the most influential play in English literature and is a classic of world literature. Its fame is perhaps due to the famous line and question Hamlet poses to himself: "To be, or not to be." Shakespeare based it on a heroic tale told by Saxo Grammaticus.
The play tells the story of Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, who is visited one night by the ghost of his father, the king (also named Hamlet), who asks him to avenge his murder. Hamlet ultimately succeeds after the family is wiped out in a tragic series of events.
The play has been translated into all the world's languages, and there are numerous Arabic translations. Mohamed Sobhi starred in and directed it early in his career, achieving great success that led to his inclusion in the Encyclopedia Britannica of Theatre.
Hamlet differs from Shakespeare's other works in that it has no subplots; all events are directly linked to Hamlet's desire for revenge. This work also contains Shakespeare's favorite device: a play within a play.

Ich habe mir dieses Werk bestellt, da ich Romeo und Julia gerne in einer günstigen, schönen Fassung kaufen wollte. Ohne Zweifel handelt es sich um Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, allerdings habe ich nicht den schönen, roten Einband erhalten, den man auf der Abbildung sehen kann, sondern ein weniger ansehnliches Cover. Offensichtlich handelt es sich nicht um einen Fehler, etwas schade, da ich es aufgrund des schönen Covers bestellt hatte.
