Little does she know that he didn't come into the life of her and her son, Art, by accident. Suddenly the former stranger, Paul, inserts himself in the middle of their family life, in unexpected ways. And from there things get weirder, darker and more intense with every page. There's a death, an unexspected relationship and entangled feelings. I loved this audiobook. First of all, the male and female narrators create the perfect atmosphere for this book. They give the listener a vivid and tense picture of everything that's going on. The first few chapters were difficult for me, due to personal content preferences. But the first plottwist so early in the book took me by surprise and from there on I was hooked. The story unravels differently than I first thought. Every other chapter I started to question my own inner voice, there are so many twists and turns and small hints-I could barely stop listening to it to go to bed. The different POVs are put together nicely, you don't miss important details even though the perspective changes. we get Sienna's, Art's and partly Paul's POV, as well as some backstory chapters. The suspense never let out. The relationship between Art and Sienna seemed authentic. I could easily relate to both. In summary-this thriller kept me on the edge of my seat, made me doubt and question every single word and action within the story and the experience the audio provides is perfect. I'd definitely read it again and I'll probably make all my friends read/listen to "The New Boyfriend" soon.
