THE SHAHNAMEH, completed in the year 1010 by the Persian poet Ferdowsi, is a monumental epic encompassing ancient myths, legends, and history. One of Iran's most cherished works of literature, this timeless poem preserves the memory of a civilization through stories of heroes, kings, and destiny. Volume II follows the reign of the Kianian king Kay Kaavoos and the growing hostility between Iran-Zamin and Tooran-Zamin. It concludes with the moving tale of Bijan and Manigeh, one of the Shahnameh's most beloved stories of love and loyalty. Throughout this volume, the great warrior-heroes shine through, displaying valor, discipline, and unwavering perseverance. These heroic tales continue to resonate today, inspiring readers across generations and reminding us of humanity's enduring search for honor, courage, and purpose.
