The Marriage Bet

Her last living relative is running the family heritage into the ground. Her one chance to save it? Offer a marriage of convenience to the business devil planning a hostile takeover of her family heritage = the only way for both to get their hands on the company before it's too late to salvage. Both enter the marriage trying to get the other one to file for divorce earning all shares of the company. Both are very competitive, entering several bets and excelling at pushing each other's buttons while attempting to fool everyone around them when maybe they are only fooling themselves. The banter and slow-burning yet steadily increasing tension is off the charts making it a very fast paced read with lots of chuckles. Who will break first and who will be the winner in that Marriage Bet? Both bring their own grief stricken baggage into the situationship they are trying to keep a secret even from their closest friends and, most of all, the enemy under the same roof must not know about that weak spot. This allows for some deeper level and character growth as otherwise the story would've been witty yet shallow and thankfully it has some layers and twists. The ending is rather predictable but doesn't make the read any less enjoyable. Loved it from the first until last page.
