Professor Ernesto Rivera completed the B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at University La Salle in 1993. Then, in 1997 he obtained his MSc degree in the Faculty of Chemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In 2001 he got his Ph.D. in Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Montreal. Afterwards he worked as postdoctoral researcher (2001-2002) in the Department of Chemistry of Queen's University under the supervision of Prof. Almeria Natansohn. Prof. Ernesto Rivera García is an expert in pi-conjugated polymers, dendrimers and supramolecular chemistry. He is author of 125 international peer-reviewed international publications and 8 Book chapters. He has supervised more than 70 thesis (B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D.). Prof. Rivera has also been organizer of various international conferences and symposia. He has been President of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Polymers and Advanced Materials, POLYMAT (2009 up to date).
PhD. Israel González Méndez was born in Mexico City in 1989. He completed the BSc and Msc degrees in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2016. During his Ph.D, in 2017 he worked at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coodination CNRS in Toulouse France under supervision of Prof. Anne-Marie Caminade. and in 2019 he obtained his PhD in Chemical Sciences at the Institute of Research in Materials UNAM under the supervision of Prof. Ernesto Rivera, working on the synthesis of dendrimers to be used as platforms for drug delivery. Afterwards he worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Chemistry UNAM (2020-2022) under supervision Prof. Jesús Gracia, performing the development of new dendrimers bearing an EDTA core. In 2023, started his academic career as Assistant Professor at the Chemical Research Center of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM). He is author of 25 publications in peer reviewed international journals and 5 Book Chapters, and he has participated in the organization of the International Conference on Polymers and Advanced Materials in 2019 and 2022, being coordinator of the poster session. Prof. González is an expert in the synthesis and characterization of biopolymers and polymers for pharmaceutical applications, particularly, in the design of controlled drug delivery systems based on cyclodextrins.
