Once, Again, Always A Novel

This book tells a moving story about second chances, trust, and the question of whether love can be stronger than lost memories. I really never thought I’d be so excited to read a traditionally published fanfiction story about Draco and Hermione—and that I’d enjoy it so much—but *Once, Again, Always* completely swept me off my feet. I loved *Wait & Hope* back then; it’s one of my favorite fanfics. So I was really curious to see how Amanda would change the story once it was clear it was going to be officially published. A brief summary of the story: Molly wakes up in the hospital after an accident and realizes she has no memory of the last six years of her life. And as if that weren’t bad enough, suddenly Aster Bishop—of all people, her former arch-enemy from their days at a prestigious private school—is standing by her bedside, claiming to be her husband. Welcome to emotional chaos! So instead of a fantasy with magic, the story has now become a contemporary romance featuring the “second chance” trope. What remains is the extreme slow burn—which was executed really well both in the fanfic and here. Despite some changes, you can still see a lot from the fanfic—both in the story and the characters. Once again, the story had me hooked from the very first page. The mix of romance, secrets, suspense, and emotional depth just works incredibly well. Time and again, you find yourself wondering: Who can Molly trust? What really happened? And can you give your heart to someone when your own mind no longer remembers them? I especially liked the development between Molly and Aster. They both come across as authentic, have their rough edges, and their relationship unfolds at a pleasantly slow and believable pace. It’s not like true love just suddenly appears—instead, trust grows bit by bit, while doubts and secrets keep getting in the way. And that spark between the two former enemies? Absolutely wonderful. ❤️ I also really liked the supporting characters and, above all, the camaraderie within the group of friends. Add to that humorous dialogue and emotional moments. The writing style is lighthearted, modern, and incredibly fluid. Despite the more serious themes, the story never feels heavy. It does a wonderful job of blending humor, suspense, romance, and thought-provoking moments. At the same time, it’s about so much more than just a love story: it’s about second chances, trust, forgiveness, self-discovery, old wounds, and the courage to perhaps rewrite your own story all over again. And Aster? Let’s put it this way: I’ve definitely taken him to my heart. For me, this is an emotional, thrilling, and beautifully told page-turner with a whole lot of heart and plenty of addictive appeal. I could hardly put the book down, and now that it’s over, I’m definitely not ready to just let go of Molly and Aster. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves emotional love stories, second chances, secrets, strong characters, and a good dose of suspense. For me, it’s definitely a 5-star highlight! ❤️

Das Buch Once, Again, Always hat mir sehr gut gefallen, weil es eine gefühlvolle und spannende Liebesgeschichte erzählt. Die Handlung ist emotional und hat mich von der ersten Seite an interessiert. Es geht um Molly, die nach einem schweren Autounfall ihr Gedächtnis verliert. Sie kann sich nicht mehr an die letzten sechs Jahre ihres Lebens erinnern. Deshalb weiß sie auch nicht mehr, dass sie inzwischen mit Aster verheiratet ist. Für beide beginnt dadurch eine schwierige Zeit, denn Molly muss ihr Leben neu kennenlernen und Aster hofft, dass sie sich wieder in ihn verliebt. Besonders gut gefallen haben mir die Hauptfiguren. Molly wirkt freundlich, mutig und versucht trotz ihrer Unsicherheit, wieder Vertrauen zu fassen. Aster ist geduldig, liebevoll und gibt nicht auf, obwohl die Situation für ihn sehr schmerzhaft ist. Ihre Gefühle und Gedanken werden gut beschrieben, sodass ich ihre Entscheidungen meistens verstehen konnte. Der Schreibstil ist einfach und angenehm zu lesen. Die Kapitel sind nicht zu lang, wodurch ich immer weiterlesen wollte. Die Autorin beschreibt die Gefühle der Figuren sehr lebendig. Dadurch konnte ich gut mit Molly und Aster mitfühlen. Es gibt viele emotionale Momente, aber auch schöne und hoffnungsvolle Szenen, die die Geschichte abwechslungsreich machen. Das Thema Erinnerung spielt in diesem Buch eine große Rolle. Es zeigt, wie wichtig gemeinsame Erlebnisse für eine Beziehung sind und dass Liebe manchmal eine zweite Chance bekommen kann. Außerdem geht es um Vertrauen, Hoffnung und darum, nach schweren Schicksalsschlägen nicht aufzugeben. Diese Botschaften haben mir besonders gefallen. An manchen Stellen fand ich die Handlung etwas vorhersehbar. Trotzdem wurde es nie langweilig, weil ich wissen wollte, wie Molly und Aster mit ihrer schwierigen Situation umgehen und ob sie wieder zueinanderfinden. Insgesamt hat mir Once, Again, Always sehr gut gefallen. Es ist eine emotionale Liebesgeschichte mit sympathischen Figuren und einer interessanten Handlung. Das Buch regt zum Nachdenken an und zeigt, wie stark Liebe und Hoffnung sein können. Ich würde das Buch allen empfehlen, die gerne romantische Geschichten mit viel Gefühl lesen. Von mir bekommt das Buch 5 von 5 Sternen, obwohl es mehr verdient hätte.
