The book was so good and I am so proud of how far Josh has come :(( He turned out to be such an amazing and kind person after everything he's been through. He truly deserves all the good things in the world and I hope more people see this when they read the book

My thoughts: This book has completely won my heart! I’ve rarely read a biography written with such care. And yet it’s so much more than that. It gives us an insight into Joshua’s journey up to where he is now, and not everything is always quite so lovely or easy to take in. There were times when I really had to swallow hard. The writing style is also unique. The whole book has the feel of poetry, which simply makes it something special. Not only do we gain insights into his public, private and secret life, but also a wealth of life experience and something to think about. Sometimes, after reading certain lines, I’d just sit there thinking about them and reflecting on my own life. It’s really written in such a way that it makes you think. At the same time, after everything you read there, it’s also a real glimmer of hope, a little nudge to really live your life and take risks now and then, because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. At times I would have liked it to go into a bit more depth, but ultimately I also understand that you want to be careful about what you reveal about yourself, because we all know what the internet can be like, and that’s touched on well here too. Even if you don’t know Joshua Bassett, this book is well worth a read. Because, as Joshua so beautifully puts it: this book is for the rookies – the unorthodox, the outsiders, the seekers the black sheep, the dreamers, adventurers, poets, pioneers, addicts, lovers, losers, believers and skeptics those who question the paradigms they were born into; who don't settle for merely accepting what they've been taught. who know deep down that there's so much more to life than meets the eye. For me, this book was an absolute highlight. It was lovely to gain a deeper insight, but at the same time I simply felt understood. I’d definitely recommend it! --- Meine Meinung: Dieses Buch hat mein ganzes Herz! Eine so liebevoll geschriebene Biografie habe ich selten gelesen. Und dabei ist es noch so viel mehr. Wir bekommen hier Einblicke in Joshuas Weg, bis zu dem Punkt, wo er jetzt steht, und nicht alles ist immer ganz so schön und einfach zu verkraften. Gelegentlich musste ich doch schon hart schlucken. Dabei ist der Schreibstil auch einzigartig. Das ganze Buch hat den Stil von Gedichten, was es einfach zu etwas Besonderem macht. Nicht nur bekommen wir hier Einblicke in sein öffentliches, privates und geheimes Leben, sondern auch viel Lebenserfahrung und einige Denkanstöße. Manchmal saß ich nach gewissen Zeilen einfach nur da und habe darüber nachgedacht und mein eigenes Leben reflektiert. Es ist wirklich so geschrieben, dass es einen nachdenklich stimmt. Gleichzeitig ist es nach all dem was man dort liest, auch ein wirklicher Hoffnunungsschimmer, ein kleiner Stoß dahin sein Leben wirklich zu leben und auch mal Risiken einzugehen, denn wir wissen nicht, was Morgen ist. Manchmal hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass es etwas mehr in die Tiefe geht, aber letztendlich verstehe ich auch, dass man etwas aufpassen möchte, mit dem, was man über sich selber preisgibt, denn wir wissen ja alle wie das Internet sein kann und das wird auch hier gut angerissen. Selbst wenn man Joshua Bassett nicht kennt, ist dieses Buch einen Read wert. Für mich war das Buch ein absolutes Highlight. Es war schön einen tieferen Einblick zu bekommen, aber gleichzeitig habe ich mich auch einfach nur verstanden gefühlt. Von mir auf jeden Fall eine Leseempfehlung!

Joshua hat wirklich das Zeug zum Schreiben. Es war so vulnerable und emotional. Ich fand das war seit langem das beste Buch was ich gelesen habe. Ein MUST READ! Kann es wirklich sehr empfehlen.

Rookie ist wirklich wunderschön geschrieben von Joshua Bassett. Ich finde es toll, dass er so emotionale Details seines Lebens mit der Welt teilt. Jeder der ihn schon länger kennt und verfolgt weiß, was für einen Schlag er bekommen hat. Daher finde ich es ganz wunderbar wie er im Buch darüber spricht und schreibt.
