Well, That Escalated Quickly

Fran is a young mother recently back to work, instead of a promotion she is being made redundant. She lies about it at home and things, like the cover indicates, spiral from there. She joins a co-working space and uses her time there to get on top of her to-dos. To the outside world, she looks like the perfect parent that we all know she isn’t. I especially liked one of the side characters, Ron, who hides his depths behind layers of sarcasm and puts Fran in her place by dishing cold truths more than once. Boy, could I do with someone like Ron in my own life at times. Weirdly, this is one of the most relatable books I have read in a long time. Fran needs to learn the same lesson most of us need to learn, your well-being is more important than being the perfect and it is not only important to ask for help but it is definitely not a sign of failure if you do.
