Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott is a satirical novella that explores the nature of dimensions and social hierarchy. The story is narrated by A Square, a resident of a two-dimensional world called Flatland, where geometric shapes represent different social classes. Squares and Circles are the elite, while Women are mere straight lines. The book cleverly blends mathematics, philosophy, and social satire, criticizing the rigid class systems and closed-mindedness of Victorian society while inviting readers to imagine realities beyond their own perception.
