Was I anticipated to read about Jasper? Totally and I love it. This story is very well written. The love story about Jasper and Sloane is told from both POVs in the first person. I prefer this way of writing because it helps me to be more involved in the characters, their emotions and actions and to reflect better about them. In my perspective Sloane and Jasper are reliable characters. I was always present in their story and could understand their feelings and actions. If I was always in sinc with them is another story, but I felt everything which makes this book my favorite in the series this far (more to read). As the authors note mentioned there are some themes described that might need some attention before reading this book. Infos my humble opinion, their handled in a realistic and caretaking way. The tension and chemistry between Sloane and Jasper is realistic and palpable from the beginning. I could relate to this overwhelming feelings. Long time they're only allowed themselves to see each other as friends or family members (little info: They're not related to each other!). They're very close to each other and catch feelings and not everyone is prepared to have their feelings slipping through their tongue. This all is normal and very realistic, specially when friendship is on the hook. Conclusion: It's my favorite in the series this far. Loved the tension, the chemistry and the character building. Could we please get a Harvey book? Even if it's only with Isabella? I want to know if he was always this kind of guy. Als Sloane am Tag ihrer Hochzeit ihren Verlobten verlässt, hilft ihr Jasper, ihr Kindheitsfreund, für den sie schon immer heimlich Gefühle hatte, mit der Flucht. Als Jaspers Welt wegen einer schlimmen Nachricht zusammenbricht, steht Sloane ihm bei und merkt, dass da auch von Jaspers Seite mehr als nur Freundschaft ist.   Mit Powerless haben wir eine total süße Childhood-Friend-to-Lovers-Geschichte vorliegen, und Elsie Silver konnte mir hiermit zeigen, dass nicht nur ihr Schreibstil wunderschön ist, sondern jede Geschichte der Chestnut Springs-Reihe herzergreifend, humorvoll und abwechslungsreich ist. Normalerweise ist Friends-to-Lovers nicht mein liebstes Genre, aber ich fand Sloanes und Jaspers verborgene Gefühle und ihre langsamen Annäherungsversuche total authentisch und konnte sehr mit den beiden mitfühlen. Beide haben auf ihre Art und Weise viel in der Vergangenheit durchgemacht, doch die beiden können sich gegenseitig helfen bei der Überwindung ihrer Schicksalsschläge und Traumata. Auch wenn die Geschichte immer süß und humorvoll, gepaart mit Slow-Burn, beginnt, haben wir wieder sehr heißen Spice vorliegen, der gut in die Storyline reingepasst hat.   Wie ihr bestimmt schon mitbekommen habt, bin ich ein Riesenfan der Chestnut Springs-Reihe geworden, denn ich liebe die Mischung aus Humor und Slow-Burn sowie das Setting und die ganzen (Neben-)Charaktere machen die Geschichte einfach perfekt. Gerade für Fans von Friends-to-Lovers ist dieser Teil eine Riesenempfehlung.
