A true David Baldacci - thrilling, with a suspense across the whole book, a lot of emotion, and a plot twist I never expected. After his daughter got killed, and his wife attacked, and water Nash sought for as the culprit, he disappeared and changed his identity to Dillon Hope. Having been vindicated by the justice system, he still seeks revenge for the death of his daughter. Hence, as a bodyguard for Red Temple, it gets to meet the woman who leads the criminal organization that killed his daughter, Victoria Steers. Yet, Temple is also deeply entangled in Victoria Steers’ deceitful actions, and tries to free himself. His primary task to get freedom is to find Walter Nash yet, Walter has transformed so much, that he’s unrecognizable to Red as well as Victoria. While they avoid to get killed or escape goaded for the escape of Victoria’s mother from a Myanmar prison, Dillon gets close closely engaged by Victoria at her special bodyguard. While emotions appear, Dillon saves, victorious life, more than once and is torn between the revenge, he seeks and the arising emotions for the woman. Hope rises was super exciting to listen to, I did like the male voice, but I have mixed feelings regarding the female voice, although the whole composition really is pleasant to listen to. A full recommendation for anyone who likes exciting and training, crime novels, and who fancies Baldacci - definitely one of the best authors of thrillers these days.
