The Key to the Island House An absolutely gripping and emotional historical fiction novel

I absolutely love the cover it already suggests an interesting story in an exotic setting. The short chapters were great and I enjoyed the balance between present day and the war years in Cairo. The story was really intriguing and very captivating. As a non-native English speaker I sometimes had to re-read a paragraph to fully understand it however I learned some new words which was fun! Towards the end the drama and events on both timelines peaked yet for me the present-day drama would not have been necessary as there was already so much going on in the past timeline. However I definitely recommend this amazing book in a very special and interesting location!
