A Thorn in the Rose

A Thorn in the Rose #1... with Lady Melinda I was already intrigued by the cover of Samantha Lee Howe’s new book and could hardly wait to start reading it. It certainly lived up to my expectations: from the very first page, I was immersed in all the intrigues, murder and suspicion. I loved the Author’s idea of transporting us back to the time of the Blitz and post-war England. This gripping thriller kept me hooked until the very end, when I finally found out who was responsible for the murders - and out to kill Mel Greenway. It’s written in a very gripping style with a brilliant main and adorable supporting characters. And honestly...I have to say, the twist was executed impeccably – I had a hunch about her relatives, but that proofed wrong. I’m already looking forward to the next instalment in this multi-part series. I could easily imagine it as a TV series made up of several parts.
