A Merry Irish Christmas A heartwarming Irish holiday rom-com filled with Hallmark Magic from Clodagh Murphy

Close to Christmas Mary thinks her biggest problem is to find the perfect present for her boyfriend’s parents. So far she hasn´t met them and they are supposed to celebrate Christmas with them which means this year she can´t visit her family back in Ireland. Soon all changes when it is clear that instead of being more serious in their relationship they break up she is devastated that she has to spend Christmas all alone in New York and gave up the chance to meet her family for such a jerk. When she decides to use her bonus to get an expensive short notice ticket she wants to surprise her family and is not informing them that she is coming home. Arriving home and looking forward spending Christmas with her loved ones the next surprise is waiting for her. Her family wanted to be there for her and decided to fly this year to New York as a surprise. They swapped houses and now Evan is in her home and absolutely not happy that an intruder is there. When both accept the other in the house, both learn to arrange to this situation and once they get to know each other better Christmas doesn´t look so dull for them any longer. I really enjoyed this book! I like all the characters we have in here, the story is really good and also the mix between Christmas feeling and romance is well done for me. Mary is a nice character but honestly I did not understand how she could stick so long to the relationship with her ex. I mean he had a meltdown when his former girlfriend got engaged. This should have been a red flag. Otherwise I really liked her a lot for the rest of the book and I really liked how she behaved after meeting Evan and still wanted to make the most out of Christmas. Evan is really a nice character. I can understand that he wanted to get out of the public eye and thought he wanted to be all alone during Christmas. How he changes, opens up to Mary is good written. Also all the other ones we meet not only in Ireland but also in New York are lovely characters which really make this story so funny and nice to read. For me a great Christmas story which I enjoyed reading, can recommend and for sure will read again.
