Portrait

Elana Gomel  is an associate professor at the Department of English and American Studies at Tel-Aviv University, Israel, and a fiction writer. She has taught and researched at Princeton, Stanford, University of Hong Kong, and Venice International University. She is the author of six academic books and numerous articles on subjects such as narrative theory, posthumanism, science fiction, Dickens, and Victorian culture. She is author of  Bloodscripts: Writing the Violent Subject  (2003),  Narrative Space and Time: Representing Impossible Topologies in Literature  (2014) and  Science Fiction, Alien Encounters, and the Ethics of Posthumanism: Beyond the Golden Rule  (2014), and the editor of  The Palgrave H andb ook of Global Fantasy (2022).

Simon Bacon  is an independent scholar based in Poznań, Poland. He has written and edited 25+ books including  Becoming Vampire  (2017),  The Gothic: A Reader  (2018),  Eco-vampires  (2019),  The Anthropocene and the Undead  (2022),  Nosferatu in the 21st Century  (2023),  1000 Vampires on Screen  (2 volumes, 2023),  The Palgrave Handbook of the Vampire  (2024), and  The Palgrave Handbook of the Zombie (forthcoming).
