Me and Mr Darcy

Oh, that was lovely! That was a truly wonderful romance. Female fantasy becomes real... or does it? In veeryy short, without giving away too much: Emily doesn't want to go on a party holiday with her friend Stella and instead goes to England on a Jane Austen tour. And what Emily experiences there... omg!! It's anything but relaxing. This book reads so well. It has depth but also has funny parts. There were also excerpts from the book 'Pride and Prejudice' interspersed throughout – I loved that! Emily is so likeable. She's a real bookworm and would be such a lovely book bestie. I would have loved to go on the Jane Austen tour with her. And when a certain someone appeared, my heart fluttered just as much as Emily's. I hadn't expected this person to show up at all. Spike's honesty left me speechless at times. His honesty can make him look like a rude person. So he seems like someone you can't or don't want to like at first. But your opinion about him changes, with Emily's, as the story unfolds. On her trip to England, Emily experiences her own version of Pride and Prejudice. And there are a few things that are kept mysterious until the very end. Everyone can ponder these questions: What was that? Was it real? Was it all just a dream? If you like Jane Austen and romance, then this is the book for you!!! And even if you don't, I'd say read it! It's worth it!!

Habe zuvor bisher "The love detective" und "Don't you forget about me" gelesen. Beide auf Englisch. Aber "Ein Mann wie Mr Darcy" war irgendwie nicht so der Brüller. Vielleicht liegts an der deutschen Übersetzung, die manchmal etwas fehlerhaft/stolprig ist. Auf jedenfall ist es nicht so lustig wie die beiden anderen. Oftmals gibts auch Passagen (langweilig), die man hätte auslassen können, da sie einfach nicht in das romantische Gesamtbild reinpassen...würde es nicht dringlich weiterempfehlen! Nett, aber solala
