"The slave Marquban" is a picture of the contradictions that can haunt people without right or strong proof. This slave Marquban is like a new-age Frankenstein whose tragedy lies in the ugliness of his face. But the poet Ali Al-Sharqawi turns the ugly-faced outcast by the tribe members into the inspiring hero who is the reason for the tribe's victory over its enemies.
