My Instructor Won't Yield

ARC Review – Thank you for the opportunity to read this story early. Plot A driving instructor who’s sworn off romance and a nervous, overdressed student meet behind the wheel—and sparks (sort of) fly. The premise is unique and funny, but the story rushes through key emotional moments. As a one-shot, it doesn’t have time to fully explore the relationship, making the romance feel a bit sudden. Characters Chiba is charming and composed, while Yaotome’s awkwardness brings light humor. They have sweet moments together, but the chemistry never fully lands. Their connection feels more hinted than developed, and by the time it turns romantic, it’s almost too fast to register. Worldbuilding & Setting The driving school setting is surprisingly refreshing and fits the story’s quiet, everyday tone. The art is soft and expressive, capturing the little glances and blushes that carry most of the emotional weight. Writing Style Simple, clean, and heartfelt. The pacing is quick and the dialogue natural, but some scenes could’ve used more space to breathe. Recommendation A gentle, quick BL read with wholesome energy and lovely art. It doesn’t leave a strong emotional mark, but it’s enjoyable for those who like slice-of-life romance with just a touch of comedy.
