Red Card

Red Card by Maren Moore is a rugby romance and the story of Rory and Cillian.   Firstly, thank you to the author for putting me in my ruby era. Before reading Red Card I honestly had no idea about rugby and Rory and Cillian’s story was the perfect introduction.   Cillian aka Kill is a notorious bad boy and he’s ruthless on the pitch. Rugby is his whole life and he’s starting over in America. At first, he seems a bit rough, but he has a lot going on in his own life and I liked how much depth his character had. Cillian is just a charming sweetheart and I totally see why Rory fell in love with him.   Rory is the coach’s daughter, and she loves rugby as well and is the team’s equipment manager. She knows everything about rugby and is a great asset to the team and I liked how all of them were friends.   Rory and Cillian spend a lot of time together because of the team and the book is definitely a bit of a friends-to-lovers story. I also liked how it wasn’t really forbidden for them to be together and their story was rather fun and sweet. I especially adored the flirting lessons. This is the type of romance you just breeze through, and it puts a smile on your face.   Red Card is a charming and sweet sports romance, and I adored Rory and Cillian. After reading this book I totally understand the obsession with rugby and if you know any other books, please let me know. 4 stars.   (Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an arc.)
