I Will Break you

i really liked this book. some of the story was a bit confusing though. throughout the story the confusion was lifted. the book ends in a bad cliffhanger and made me want to purchase the second part right away. i would recommend.

This is not dark romance. It’s basically just pornography disguised as a story. For me, dark romance has limits, and this book crossed them completely. Scenes involving the rape of women or children are not “romantic,” “dark,” or entertaining they’re simply disturbing. I honestly don’t understand the hype around this book. It’s shocking for the sake of being shocking, without adding anything meaningful to the story. Instead of tension or emotional depth, it relies almost entirely on graphic abuse and violence. I also don’t understand why the author keeps writing stories like this. If every book follows the same pattern of glorifying or sensationalizing extreme abuse, then maybe it’s worth reflecting on why that’s the chosen direction. Fiction is fiction, but that doesn’t mean every subject is handled responsibly. My biggest concern is the audience. Even if the book is marked 18+, many young readers will still pick it up. When they constantly see people praising books like this, some may start believing these kinds of abusive relationships are what “dark romance” is supposed to be. They are not. Dark romance can explore difficult and taboo subjects while still telling a compelling story and acknowledging the consequences of abuse. This book doesn’t do that. It just felt disturbing, exploitative, and completely unnecessary. Definitely not a recommendation.
