Professor Yannis P. Pitsiladis has an extensive research background in the role of lifestyle and genetics in human health and performance. His current work focuses on human enhancement technologies in health and disease, emphasizing responsible paradigms. His latest research, funded by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), applies “omics” (genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and proteomics) and artificial intelligence to detecting doping in sport, particularly blood doping and testosterone use.

Professor Pitsiladis is a member of the IOC Health, Medicine and Science Commission (previously known as Medical and Scientific Commission, 2015 - present), the Executive Committee and Chair of the Scientific Commission of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS), and the Scientific and Education Commission of the European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations (EFSMA).He also serves on WADA’s Health Medical Research Committee (HMRC) and is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

With over 250 scientific publications and multiple-authored and edited books, his research has influenced both scientific and popular discourse. His work has been featured in documentaries such as Kipchoge: The Last Milestone (2021, directed by Jake Scott, executive produced by Ridley Scott) and Enhanced (2018, directed by Alex Gibney), as well as in bestselling books like The Sports Gene and Bounce: The Myth of Talent and the Power of Practice.

Professor Patrick Shu-Hang Yung is the current Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology and the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, focused on orthopedic sports medicine

and arthroscopy surgery. He is the current Vice President of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the Past President of the Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM). He has published over 200 scientific papers in international journals, being the Director of the first ever Master Course in sports medicine and health science in Asia, which trained over 1200 medical professionals in the field since 2004. He is also the team doctor of the Hong Kong team for more than 20 years and Chairman of the Community Sports Committee of the HKSAR government in promoting Sports for Health. He has been awarded the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong” in 2009, the “FIMS Fellows” in 2011, the “Chinese Sports Medicine Magnolia Award” in 2017, and the “Takagi & Watanabe Award” of the Asia Pacific Knee Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine Society in 2018. He was made “Justice of the Peace” and the “Medal of Honor” by the Government of Hong Kong SAR in 2018 and 2021, respectively.

Dr. Mark R. Hutchinson is a Distinguished Professor of orthopedics and sports medicine and Head Team Physician at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he has cared for athletes as well as patients and taught medical students, residents, and fellows for over 30 years. He has served as event or team physician for numerous national and professional teams, including numerous international and Olympic events. He has edited 7 books, authored over 60 book chapters, published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presented nationally and internationally on a broad range of team physician, sports medicine, arthroscopy, and orthopedic sports medicine issues. He has annually received Top Doc or Best Doc accolades at regional and national levels. He has held numerous leadership roles in the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), including currently serving as President of the ACSM Foundation and representing ACSM to the FIMS Scientific and Education Commission.

Professor Fabio Pigozzi is currently the Deputy Rector of the University of Rome “Foro Italico,” where he is also a Professor of Internal Medicine and Scientific Director of the Centre for Exercise Science and Sports Medicine; besides, he is also the President of the Italian NADO.

Graduated in medicine and surgery at the Rome University “La Sapienza” with specializations in cardiology and in sports medicine, “Honorary Doctor” in sport science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and Doctor “Honoris Causa” in health sciences at the Catholic University of San Antonio of Murcia, Spain, he also holds a number of positions in sports administration, including President of the International Federation of Sports Medicine; member (Observer) of the Health, Medical and Research Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA); member of the IOC Health, Medicine and Science Commission (previously known as Medical and Scientific Commission, 2015 - present); and member of the Medical Commission of the Association of the National Olympic Committees (ACNO). He has contributed to several sports medicine and sports science topics and is the author of more than 200 scientific publications.
