Mike Dines is programme leader for BA (Hons) music at Middlesex University in London, United Kingdom. As a musician, writer, scholar and DIY punk publisher, Mike has written extensively in the field of subcultures and punk and is currently chair of the Punk Scholars Network.

Shara Rambarran is a visiting lecturer in music at the University of York. She is the co-editor of The Oxford Handbook of Music and Virtuality and The Routledge Research Companion to Popular Music Education. Shara is currently co-running the Association on the Art of Record Production and is on the Editorial board for the Journal on the Art of Record Production and Journal on Popular Music Education.

Gareth Dylan Smith is an assistant professor of music, music education at Boston University. His research interests include drumming, punk pedagogies and eudaimonia in music making. His most recent book is A Philosophy of Playing Drum Kit: Magical Nexus (Cambridge University Press, 2002), and his forthcoming duets album, Permission Granted, is a collection of conversations from the drums.
