With this book Journalist Stephen Davis managed to capture the spirit and energy of Led Zeppelin. You follow Page, Plant, Jones and Bonham from their early upbringing to their first band practise together, to their meeting with Atlantic Records, who then signed them on and released their album Zeppelin I. It is a joy to read because Stephen Davis’ writing style makes you feel like a part of the crew, following every concert and album recording. You experience the highs and lows that the musicians had to go through and how hard it can get when the media and press give you a bad reputation for no reason. As a die hard Led Zeppelin fan, I highly enjoyed this book and it made me listen to every album again, noticing small things that I didn’t hear before. Black and white photos are also included in the book.
