Bitte bitte nehmt die trigger warning ernst!!! Halleluja hat mich das Buch fertig gemacht... Die Beziehung zwischen Liam, Wynn und Landson ist einfach nur herzerwärmen und zerschmetternt zu gleich... Liam hat wirklich eine schlimme Vergangenheit womit er lange weiterhin kämpfen muß. Es ist eine so unfassbar schöne Geschichte die aber auch wirklich traurig ist. Ich habe geweint wie ein Baby am Ende Ich habe trotzdem jede Sekunde von dem Buch geliebt!!!❤️ Ich brauche aber glaube ich erst mal Zeit um es zu verarbeiten bis ich das zweite Buch lesen kann

Ich würde 10 Sterne geben, wenn ich könnte. Das Buch ist so düster wie es schön, wie es romantisch, wie es tragisch ist. Es hat einen Mystery-Anteil, die Entwicklung der Charaktere ist großartig und der Schreibstil hat etwas poetisches. Diese Geschichte lebt für immer mietfrei in meinem Kopf ☺️

Wynn is only twenty-six. The doctors tell her she’s suffering from a severe chemical imbalance that leaves her deeply depressed. As if that weren’t enough, she’s also living with a heart condition that will likely kill her one day. The only escape she sees is to end her life. After a failed suicide attempt, she gives in to her brother’s pleas not to give up and to try finding a way to get better. During her hospital stay, she meets Liam. He’s dark-humored and nothing like what you’d expect a nurse to be. Wynn is instantly mesmerized by him. There’s a darkness to Liam—calm and assessing, with a cold fire burning in his eyes. He challenges her not to lose hope, and they make an unusual promise: to wait a little longer for the weight of the world to lift and if it all becomes too much again, to hold each other until the storm passes. A strange promise to make to a stranger, but Wynn agrees and also decides to take her brother up on his offer and enter a rehabilitation center. When she arrives, she’s stunned to be introduced to Liam as her new roommate. It turns out he was never a nurse at all—he was a patient, just like her, recovering from his own injuries. Liam is a masochist. He needs pain to feel alive, and he despises Wynn for wanting to die when he actively seeks pain just to experience something. Wynn, on the other hand, hates pain - seeing it, feeling it, witnessing it. She simply can’t stand it. And very quickly, she begins to question whether rehab was a good idea after all. “The Fabric of our Souls is thin and worn. We must be gentle and love tirelessly.” I honestly don’t know what I expected when I started this book, but it definitely wasn’t this. Every time I picked up the book, time seemed to disappear. The pages flew by and I’m still a little lost for words. At its core, this is a story about loss, grief, destruction, and tragedy but also about friendship, love, and hope. It’s about two people who are complete opposites and somehow still find their way to each other. The story captivated me. It also wrung out my heart and left me emotionally devastated more than once. The plot felt unique and took a few surprising turns I didn’t see coming. There was also a good dose of tension, angst, and mystery woven into the already vast cocktail of emotions. My only complaint is that there were a few moments when the pacing felt slightly off, as if there was more that could have been explored but wasn’t. And honestly? The book ended far too quickly for my liking. Which, I suppose, is the best possible indicator of how much I enjoyed Mornova’s writing and this story. I can only encourage you to give this a try. It ripped my heart out, but I really loved it. Story: 4.25 ⭐️ Spice: 2.5
