Dr. Single Dad by Louise Bay might be my new favorite in the Doctor series…maybe even my favorite of all of her books. Seriously. We know Dex from the books before - if you haven’t read them yet, I highly recommend doing so even though you don’t need to read them to understand this book. I love Louise’s writing style and Dex’ personal growth. Dex loves his current (single-) life as a research doctor and has no intentions of changing anything about it. Until he gets a call from a former bad mate that changes practically anything. Turns out he’s father now and the “mother of his child” wants to give up the daughter for adoption. They need his signature though. What does Dax do? Yes, high jacks his cousins jet, flies to the US, brings his daughter back to the UK. He doesn’t want to change his life for her and sees himself as “a caregiver” instead of a dad and wants to hire a full-time/live-in nanny. In comes Eira. She’s just wonderful. I’ve got no other words. But Dax doesn’t see her fit as a nanny and employs an older woman with more experience. Whoops - so how are they supposed to fall madly in love? Do they? Does Dex want to be a father at some point? Who knows. Read it yourself! You can thank me later.
