His research experience includes analysis, fabrication and testing of turbomachinery and systems for advances power or oil & gas applications including high-pressure turbomachinery, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, expanders, gas turbines, and test rigs for bearings, seals, blade dynamics and aerodynamic performance. Dr. Allison holds two patents, has authored four book chapters, co-edited two books and published over 79 articles on turbomachinery topics. He received the best tutorial / paper awards from the ASME Oil & Gas Supercritical CO2 Power Cycle Committees in 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2018. Tim is a past chairman of the ASME Oil & Gas Applications Committee, past and current co-chair for the Thermal-Chemical-Mechanical Energy Storage Workshop, a past and current co-chair of the Supercritical CO2 Symposium Planning Committee, a past and current cochair of the Industrial Process Emissions Reduction (IPER) Technology Workshop Planning Committee, and an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines & Power.
His organization is responsible for the design, research and development of Solar’s Centrifugal Gas Compressors, including aerodynamic, rotordynamic, and mechanical design. Dr. Kurz attended the Universitaet der Bundeswehr in Hamburg, Germany, where he received the degree of a Dr.-Ing. in 1991. He has authored numerous publications about turbomachinery related topics, is an ASME fellow, and a member of the Turbomachinery Symposium Advisory Committee. He also won the ASME Industrial Gas Turbine Award in 2013. Dr. Kurz is a member of the TPS Advisory committee.
Dr. Wygant is the Senior Manager of Advanced Technology Programs at Elliott Group. In this role he helps define technology needs for future product introduction to the market.
