Dr. Fake Fiance

Soooo…I’ve been in a funk, a dark hole, whatever you want to call it, that’s why I’m late to the game. I actually got Dr. Fake Fiancé as an ARC and I’m super grateful for it because I love Louise Bay’s books. After months of not reading, I basically forced myself to read Dr. Fake Fiancé and I don’t regret it. I remembered that reading is what usually brings me out of a bad mood und this time was no different. I do love a good fake dating trope and Louise Bay made this definitely happen. We’re going back to London to our beloved Cove-Family. This one is about the adventurous Beau whose 30s are right around the corner so he’s ready to settle, but Coral has other plans and calls him a before-guy...let me tell you, I was mad at her and wounded for him. One fortunate day he meets Vivian Cross – meaning gets drenched by her hot coffee – who is heartbroken by her ex Matt’s betrayal. She’s also being hunted by paparazzi because they’re wild for the heartbreak story of the singer. When her and Beau “meet” she’s enchanted (see what I did here) that he doesn’t recognize her and they go for a morning walk which they both enjoy but they also didn’t because – paparazzi. There’s one thing to do – fake a relationship. You know, lines get blurred, things happen… people get confused, they feel things… but are they ready to let the “fake” of the fake dating slide? I really did enjoy this book. I also loved to see other beloved characters – you don’t have to read the former books, but I highly recommend them! Beau and Vivian have amazing chemistry, wonderful and deep conversations with each other and also some big character developments. Especially Beau is a great new book-boyfriend after being called just a “before”-guy (he isn’t, he’s forever-material and the biggest sweetheart out of the Cove-brothers). Huge thanks to Louise Bay for this lovely book that got me out of my hole. Now go and read it!
