**** Worum geht es? **** Amaras Reise hat sie weit gebracht, von einer Sklavin in Pompeji zu einer Kurtisane in Rom. Doch ihre Tochter bleibt in Pompeji zurück und so ist es eine wahre Freude diese auf einem Besuch im Jahr 49 n.C. wiederzusehen, weiß sie doch, dass ihre Familie sicherer ist, wenn sie entfernt in Rom verweilt. Nichts ahnend, dass in diesem Jahr der Vesuv entscheidet aller Schicksal zu verändern… **** Mein Eindruck **** Fans von historischen Romanen können hier einfach nichts falsch machen. Das Setting und die Charaktere sind schlichtweg überzeugend und realitätsnah. Die Eindrücke aus dem damaligen Rom und dem Treiben in Pompeji ist mehr als unterhaltsam und interessant zu verfolgen. In dem dritten und finalen Teil war der Spannungsbogen äußerst hoch. Bildlich und schockierend verfolgte ich den Ausbruch des Vesuvs, sowie die Verzweiflung der Vielzahl an Charakteren. Das Ganze hat sich schockierend und unglaublich nahbar angefühlt. Mit der Entwicklung des Lebens der Protagonistin konnte ich hier besonders mitfühlen, Freude und Leid gingen Hand in Hand. Eine emotionale Achterbahnfahrt mit aufregenden historischen Ereignissen. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es für die leichten Längen nach der großen Katastrophe. An manchen Stellen hätte ich mit gerne ein paar mehr Details gewünscht und teils eine weniger moderne Sprache. Insgesamt ein gelungenes Finale und eine wirklich authentische Buchreihe. **** Empfehlung? **** Ein historischer Leckerbissen, den man einfach entdecken sollte. Wer die römische Zeit interessant findet und vor allem mehr über Pompeji wissen möchte und dabei einfach eine belletristische Familiengeschichte erleben möchte, ist in dieser Trilogie und mit diesem Finale genau richtig aufgehoben. ————————————————————— **** What is it about? **** Amara's journey has taken her far, from a slave in Pompeii to a courtesan in Rome. But her daughter remains behind in Pompeii and so it is a real pleasure to see her again on a visit in 49 A.D., knowing that her family will be safer if she stays away in Rome. Little does she know that in this year Vesuvius will decide to change everyone's fate... **** My impression **** Fans of historical novels simply can't go wrong here. The setting and the characters are simply convincing and realistic. The impressions of Rome at the time and the goings-on in Pompeii are more than entertaining and interesting to follow. In the third and final part, the tension was extremely high. I followed the eruption of Vesuvius and the desperation of the many characters in a vivid and shocking way. The whole thing felt shocking and incredibly relatable. I was able to empathize with the development of the protagonist's life, joy and suffering went hand in hand. An emotional rollercoaster ride with exciting historical events. One star is deducted for the slight length after the great catastrophe. In some places I would have liked a few more details and sometimes less modern language. Overall, a successful finale and a really authentic book series. **** Recommendation? **** A historical tidbit that you simply have to discover. If you find the Roman period interesting and, above all, want to know more about Pompeii and simply want to experience a fictional family story, this trilogy and this finale are just right for you.
