White Nights

Dieses Buch hat mich tief berührt. White Nights erzählt eine leise Geschichte, die nicht laut sein muss, um Wirkung zu zeigen. Die Gefühle sind fein beschrieben und wirken sehr echt. Der Stil ist ruhig und fließend, sodass man das Buch fast in einem Atemzug liest. Gleichzeitig möchte man sich Zeit lassen, um die Gedanken auf sich wirken zu lassen. Es ist eines dieser Bücher, die man nicht einfach zuklappt und vergisst. Für mich war es eine wunderschöne Lektüre.

White Nights is the first book I read by Dostoyevsky and not gonna lie - it felt kind of weird. It's written really well and easy to read, but I personally found the long monologues very long and sometimes mentally draining. The topics Dostoyevsky talks about are still very important despite the book being old and I recommend it for anyone who wants to self-reflect a little.

In a book of 96 Pages her name was mentioned 138 times while his name wasnt mentioned even once. In the beginning of the reading, his contentment for life really got addictive. I was always wondering, why is he such in a good mood? I didn’t read further until I understood. He was just happy in her presence. Beautiful story.

It is definitely one of my favorite short stories. The love in it is platonic and so softly beautiful. The story was quite captivating to me, and if you're a hopeless romantic, you're probably going to enjoy it. The two other short stories in the book are still quite interesting, portraying unique characters and their stories. Not in my favorites, but interesting nevertheless. The book is small and really pretty. Definitely reccomend.

It’s the first book I read from Fyodor Dostoyevsky, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. One of my friends saw me reading it and told me that it was to complicated for her. I agree that Fyodors writing style is unique on its own way and can get sometimes confusing, but in the end everything comes together. The brief decryption on the back of the bock explains it very well. It’s not one of my favorites, but if you’re looking for short stories on the go, I would recommend this one :)
