    A story with potential

    Due to the fact that I couldn't get warm with the caracters, I stopped reading after 1/3 of the book. The story itself really has potential - gods that get chased and killed. To understand everything that's happening I would've wished for more background information or flashbacks. I'd still encourage fantasy lovers to give it a try!

    Intriguing world, but lackluster characters

    Godkiller by Hannah Kaner is the first book in the Godkiller Series and the debut of the author.   This book is set in a fantasy world with gods and demons. I really liked this setting, and the world was very well crafted. In addition, I wanted to learn as much as possible about the gods because they were just fascinating to me.   The protagonist Kissen hates the gods after they killed her family and actively hunts them down. This is also where the book title Godkiller comes from, and it was very fitting for the story. Kissen is a fierce and badass character but at the same time she was very blinded by anger. That made it difficult for me to connect to her.   Then there is Skardi, a god of lies whom Kissen can’t kill as he is bound to a mortal body. He was intriguing, but full of lies and mischief and therefore not really trustworthy.   The plot is action packed and was what kept me reading the story. I loved seeing more of the world and especially when they got to Blenraden was my favorite part.   Overall, Godkiller is a fantasy novel with a great concept and an intriguing world, but the characters lacked depth for me. 3,5 stars.   (ARC kindly provided in exchange for a review.)

    People make gods, and, for better or worse, gods make people.

    I absolutely adored everything about this book, it was phenomenal! The world was so vibrant and alive, teeming with history and ancient beings; the characters were so real and human, always flawed and always interesting; the prose was beautiful and evocative. I simply cannot fault it! Funerals are for the living. The dead don't mind what the world does to them. The plot takes us on a winding adventure rooted in a world overflowing with magic. It’s unputdownable and so much fun to read. I cannot wait for the next book and I will fight anyone I must to get my hands on it!

    You are not welcome here, Godkiller.

    I picked this book up because it was said to be a great fantasy tale with "The Witcher" vibes. And what can I say I did not get disappointed. We follow the pov of four different and amazing characters with different goals but the same destination. Set in a beautiful but cruel world I can´t wait to read more about and interesting concepts of magic and godly powers this was a book I couldn´t read fast enough and when I was done I was left craving more.

    Beautiful Debut Fantasy

    I'm so happy to say that I finally found fantasy I enjoy and I'm excited for! Godkiller was very hard for me to put down and I enjoyed it so much! We follow Kissen the Godkiller, Elogast the retired knight now baker, Inara a noble girl and Skediceth, the God of white lies who is somehow tied to Inara. I enjoyed the different POV's and I loved to get to know the characters. I found them to be very dynamic and I very much enjoyed their relationships to each other. The journey those four main characters follow reminded me a lot of The Witcher which I'm not mad about. The world building and pacing was very well done in my opinion and I'm keen to find out more about the world, gods and people. Please don't let me wait too long for the next book!
