Personally, I like the novel, I have currently finished vol. 4 and soon gonna read vol.5 as the story is really catching. Although their relationship seems toxic in the course of novel 2 and 3, and I don't deny that it goes slightly into sexually harassing the other male lead as well, reading the 4th novel changed my mind about their realationship completely. Their realationship in the beginning is clear, they are simply doctor and patient. But during the stroy it takes turns and complicated twists, also because of He Yu's mental illness and the claim that he is homophobic. Thus, I think no one can give a clear definition of their realationship by novel 3 -_-. The author simply doesn't want them to have one at that point. But that changes as I said in novel 4. As a reader I think it is a major volume where their realationship takes a great turn in the "right" direction again. Having endured their harsh arguments and toxic behaviour in the former novels, I think it just adds to the thrill and deepness of the story, as you can really see and feel the change of their attitudes, without it feeling abrupt or unnatural at all. In my opinion that is what a good story should provide: Deep and realistic character design and the ability to use that created characters, to then let them go through a story that emphasizes how well they are written as well as how they can change in the course of the story. So despite the story being a bit traumatizing at first glance, don't worry, it will still be traumatizing in the following novels - :,) -but at least their realationship becomes one that the reader wants to support and read more off. Everyone who decides to start this book series, I hope you enjoy ^^! (...despite the suffering your soul is gonna go through, it is worth it. Trust me)

für Personen, die gerne nach diesen Punkten in einer Story suchen, könnte das Buch perfekt sein. - angsty / dark - age gap - crime elements - mental health (problems) - lgbtq+ Persönlich beinhaltet es alle Elemente, welche mich ansprechen. Ich liebe den Schreibstil. Es ist ein Titel, welches mein Verlangen befriedigt und mich nach dem Ende süchtig nach mehr hinterlässt. Ich habe seit über einem Jahrzehnt kein Buch so schnell in so kurzer Zeit gelesen. Kann kaum das Erscheinen des nächsten Bandes erwarten und werde es bis dahin noch unzählige Male in die Hände nehmen. Allerdings sollten Personen, die es wünschen, nach trigger warnings schauen, da dieser Titel für Erwachsene gedacht ist und zum Teil sehr dunkle Themen anspricht, welche nicht für jeden geeignet sind.

This is yet another masterpiece serie and worth collecting like the husky. Dark and macabre. Similar to Yuwu, volume one starts off with providing backstory for the two male leads. One is characterized as stubborn as a mule and the other as crazy as a bat(indeed, he is a shen jing bing). It should get more bizarre and heartwrenching in the next few volumes. This volume can be considered as „light hearted“ and not too heavy but it serves well as a bait, hooking and reeling you into the serie.

I love 2ha and yuwu, but heavily dislike BAB. I can't believe Meatbun wrote this. I read vol. 1+2 and I'll not finish vol. 3. It only gets worse. BAB is only for a certain niche. MC is very toxic and manipulative. He has an mental illness too. You can get a general idea of what to expect from TW. It is well-known that some male, gay MCs struggle to recognize, accept and express their emotions and sexuality. Some sc will dislike that too. But I don't like how it is expressed in BAB. So much hate for homosexuality.. This story plays in a modern setting.. You don't even get this from historical danmeis. It's too much for me. I read the f word in vol. 1 more often then I use it in a week.
