A brother with a mysterious life-threatening condition! The Baxters need to find their uncle for help, but he's lost in time. If they don't locate him, their brother might die. What started as a vacation with their uncle became an adventure these three English schoolchildren could never have imagined. Who would have thought Uncle Archie had built a time machine? If they don't learn how to work it, how can they find him because he has vanished and is somewhere back in 1940? Teamwork becomes all-important because an unforeseen event wrecks their plans when they finally arrive in wartime England, and they must cope with new lives as evacuees. Even worse, if they can't find their uncle, they will be stuck in the past forever, and one of them will certainly die! Stuck in Time is an adventure story set chiefly in rural England. It unfolds over an eventful Easter holiday when the Baxter children visit their Uncle Archie, only for him to vanish! When James develops an unusual, life-threatening condition, it becomes clear that Uncle Archie is the only one who can help. Their search for their missing Uncle finds the siblings transported back to 1940s wartime Britain and racing against time. They discover what it was like to be an evacuee and experience life at a 1940s village school. Stuck in Time is a stand-alone story and is the first book in the "Stuck" series. The series feature adventure stories that blend fiction with actual events and people to create an enjoyable and informative read full of drama with a sprinkling of humour. Like all of the books in the series, Stuck in Time can be enjoyed by children 8+, but adults will have a fun read too! If you enjoy books like 'The Secret Lake' by Karen Inglis or 'The Time Hunters Saga' by Carl Ashmore, you will love this story. This is the first stand-alone book in the 'Stuck' series blending adventure, history, and time travel.
