Ich habe noch nie ein Buch mit so vielen Twists gelesen. Es ist regelrecht anstrengend, dem Ganzen zu folgen. Man hat gerade ausgeatmet, da zieht man die Luft schon wieder ein, weil direkt eine neue Wendung daherkommt. Das Buch ist auf jeden Fall besser als viele Horrorfilme, die ich in den letzten Jahren gesehen habe und man fiebert so sehr mit, dass man es in einem Rutsch durchlesen MUSS. Es ist sogar stellenweise komisch, dann wieder gruselig und es baut sich hier und da ein Jump Scare ein. Es ist nicht perfekt, aber auf absurde Art und Weise einfach echt gut. Besser kann ich es nicht beschreiben. Lesen lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, wenn man dezent verstört zurückgelassen werden möchte.

First of all the book made me uncomfortable, and it was too gory for my taste, and some scenes were just violent for the sake of being violent and was dragged on. In the end, I just wanted the book to be over because it was too long. Anyways, I figured the plot twist within 80 pages in the book that was disappointing honestly. Things, I liked: 1- I really liked Emma as a character and sometimes found her funny. Also, I found her and Shawn extremely sweet. 2-I had lot of fun upto 100 pages. I was intrigued. 3- Emma and Deeks relationship as neighbours endearing. Things, I did not: 1- How the book was executed, I felt the author was kind of not sure with the story. 2- It seemed Emma was doing stupid things like why would she house sit for a person without even knowing their full name ? It just felt stupid. The clues were all there. 3- Also, it was not pleasure of all to read. I wanted to finish it, but still it was not enjoyable overall.
