First of all: this was not my fav of the series… but! This book is very important for everything that is to come and understanding where Rip is coming from while also giving Auren the time to heal and develop in her own time. So you need to be patient with the slower pace of this book because it is needed. I loved the new povs and learning more about the characters while also getting a hint of the epic showdown that is sure to come! The last third had me in a chokehold and now i need to immediatly be reading Gold. ! make sure to read the trigger warnings !

I had high hopes for this book after enjoying the first three in the series, but unfortunately, it fell short for me. The characters felt off, with Auren coming across as immature and Slade as always having the perfect response. The lack of significant events left me feeling underwhelmed and eager to finish the book quickly. Overall, I'm disappointed with this installment.
