Bei diesem Buch handelt es sich um eine Beschreibung der Taten, wegen denen Christopher Halliwell verurteilt wurde und einen Versuch, weitere Opfer seinem Tatmuster zuzuordnen. Im Grunde dient es dazu, Druck auf die Polizei auszuüben in der Hoffnung, dass die gewünschten Untersuchungen gemacht werden. Die Autoren selber schreiben, dass es ihnen darum geht, für die Angehörigen einen Abschluss und Gerechtigkeit zu erlangen. Der Schreibstil ist einwandfrei und das Buch lässt sich gut lesen. Man spürt die Verzweiflung und den Frust, weil es keine befriedigenden Antworten gibt. Für den Leser ist es dasselbe Gefühl, da es eben nicht die eine Lösung gibt. Die Details wurden sehr gründlich recherchiert, aber da es eine private Untersuchung ist fehlen alle Informationen, die von der Polizei nicht veröffentlicht wurden. Daher bleibt sehr viel im Dunkeln, was einen auch als Leser frustriert. Ich kann den Autoren in ihrer Argumentation nicht immer folgen, da manche der erwähnten, ungelösten Fälle, für mich nicht offensichtlich in Halliwells Tatmuster fallen. Es bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Polizei Licht ins Dunkel bringt, wo es problemlos aufgrund heutiger Untersuchungsmethoden möglich ist.
