Garnet Flats

Garnet Flats by Devney Perry is the third book in The Edens Series and this is Talia and Foster‘s story. Talia is very ambitious and currently very close to being a doctor and doing her residency in her hometown. I liked to see her work in the hospital and it was interesting and sometimes sad to see her experiences there whether with patients or colleges. It was amazing to see her surrounded by her family and they appreciate each other so much. And the place that inspired the title sounds like a dream and so lovely. In college she met Foster and the two were together until later on when Foster married her best friend and afterwards Talia never wanted to see Foster again. Foster is a professional fighter and is looking for a new place to train for his next fight and goes to Eden for it. That might also be the place to win Talia back and tell her what was going on in the past and why he did certain things. At first I was totally on Talia‘s side and very skeptical of Foster, but he could totally win my heart in the process of the book. Talia and Foster‘s story is a second chance story that was really complicated as a lot of outer factors influenced their relationship in the past. I really liked to see them get closer again and my favorite scenes were when Foster has to temporarily live in Talia‘s house. I was also so curious of what happened in the past and the reveal of that was satisfying for me. Overall, I really liked Talia and Foster‘s story and it is a very unique take on the second chance trope. 4 stars. (ARC kindly provided in exchange for a review.)
