Enter a world of darkness, mystery, seduction, and immortality with Vampire Musings, an eclectic vampire anthology featuring short stories, essays, poetry, song lyrics, and personal reflections from writers, professors, musicians, artists, and devoted members of vampire culture.
Publisher and contributor Bertena Varney has been fascinated by vampires since childhood. During college, she devoted much of her academic study to the enduring lure of the vampire, connecting with talented writers, musicians, scholars, and creators who shared her passion for these legendary creatures. Although vampire trends may rise and fall, true admirers of Gothic horror, supernatural fiction, and vampire mythology never completely leave the shadows.
Vampire Musings brings together a diverse collection of voices to explore the vampire from many perspectives. Within these pages, readers will encounter fiction writers, academicians, musicians, a wine connoisseur, and a psychic vampire who shares personal knowledge of the vampire lifestyle. The result is an unusual journey through vampire literature, dark fantasy, Gothic culture, paranormal experiences, and the many ways the vampire continues to captivate our imagination.
This macabre collection includes:
• Vampire short stories and supernatural fiction • Gothic poetry and darkly seductive writing • Essays about vampire mythology and culture • Reflections on psychic vampires and the vampire lifestyle • Original song lyrics inspired by the creatures of the night • Academic, creative, and personal perspectives on vampire lore
Whether you love classic vampire literature, modern paranormal stories, Gothic romance, horror anthologies, vampire history, or supernatural culture, this collection offers something to intrigue, seduce, and mesmerize you.
The vampire may change with every generation, but its power remains. Sit back, embrace the darkness, and enjoy your night.
Bertena Varney, M.A., M.Ed.
