The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches the heartwarming and uplifting magical romance

How cozy can a book be? The answer is yes. This lovely Book gives the same vibes as Tj. Klunes "The house in the cerulian sea", cuddly, cozy, interesting and just wholesome. It made me feel giddy and warm inside. A heartfelt recommentation for cold evenings and warm afternoons!

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches was a big suprise for me. Itˋs a feel good story about the lonely witch Mika who getˋs an oppurtunity she can´t refuse. She has to be a magic teacher for three young witches at an isolated house hidden from every sight. There she learns what it means to have a family and persons who love her. I didn´t expect a lot from the story when I started reading and I had a rough start into the story because the main character Mika is a little older than me and I couldn‘t really identify with her at first. But then I gave the story a chance and I lost myself between the pages. Mikas story was so heartwarming and cute that I couldn’t lay away the book anymore. All the characters were so pure, so loveable and so unique that I loved them all, especially Mika and Jamie who is so much more than just the ‚mean‘ guy he seems to be at the beginning. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches is the perfect read for everyone who loves romance books with a little magic twist, the found family trope and stories where you can lose yourself totally.

it is sweet and intriguing, builds a fascinating world, a good love story, some insights: a little kitsch from time to time, but overall very enjoyable. Could well be the beginning of a series;)

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna is a cozy witchy story and follows Mika Moon.   Mika is a witch but grew up very isolated and alone. This is because a large amount of magic attracts trouble and catastrophic events. However, this very much weighs on her and she does some videos on witchcraft. Mika is a really inspiring and kindhearted person, and she was a lovely protagonist.   One day she gets approached by the Nowhere House and they want her to teach the three children there who are supposedly also witches. Mika is very skeptical of this, but at the same time curious and checks it out. That puts her very much out of her comfort zone and her beliefs are pushed. The three girls were so sweet and full of life, and I really liked that they were also characters and not only background characters. The found family aspect is just one of my favorite tropes and this was such a good one.   The plot is really slow and gentle. While that was enjoyable, sometimes I didn’t really know where the story was going. Only in the second half of the book turns and things start to happen, and Mika needs to figure out how much she is willing to do for her found family.   The story is just a comforting, cozy and heartwarming read. I feel like it would also be perfect to read in the fall and if you like The House in the Cerulean Sea, I think you would also like this one.   Overall, if you are looking for a comfort read with a bit of magic, check this one out. 3,5 stars.   (ARC kindly provided in exchange for a review.)
