Das Buch ist einfach perfekt. Von Anfang an konnte ich das Buch nicht mehr zur Seite legen weil es mich so gefesselt hat. Die Charaktere sind alle perfekt gewählt. Ich werde das Buch jedem weiterempfehlen und auf jeden Fall irgendwann noch einmal lesen. Der absolute Hammer

My thoughts: I really loved this book right from the start. Not only does it feature such endearingly imperfect characters, but it also has a wonderfully beautiful summer setting. Percy is such a brilliant person. She’s always there for everyone and really deserves nothing but the best. Even though she made a mistake – one I can’t fully understand, because I find myself wondering how things could have got that far in the first place – I still think she’s a good person. The whole situation has actually made her seem more authentic somehow. I’m not condoning it, but I can see how human that is, ultimately. Mistakes happen, even if they feel like the end of the world. Sam is really so sweet, right from the start. Somehow, I couldn’t help but fall in love with his endearing nature too. Along the way, he also made a few mistakes that disappointed me just a little bit, but that actually highlighted his imperfections. The only thing that bothered me a little was his confession at the end. In the end, perhaps they didn’t need to lose so many years. But as I’ve already said: people make mistakes, and that’s exactly why I liked it so much. The writing style completely swept me away as well. This was my first book by Carley, and it certainly won’t be my last. There was so much suspense, and although it’s clear how the story unfolds, I did sometimes wonder whether things might turn out differently and I certainly didn’t expect those twists and turns until right at the last minute. This book has definitely been a highlight and is a great summer read that I’d recommend to you all. --- Meine Meinung: Ich habe dieses Buch von Anfang an ziemlich geliebt. Nicht nur haben wir hier einfach so liebenswerte unperfekte Charaktere, sondern auch ein traumhaft schönes Sommersetting. Percy ist so ein toller Mensch. Sie ist immer für alle da und hat wirklich nur das Beste verdient. Auch wenn ihr ein Fehler passiert ist, den ich nicht vollständig verstehen kann, weil ich mich gedanklich frage, wie es überhaupt so weit kommen konnte, bin ich trotzdem der Meinung, dass sie gut ist. Die ganze Situation hat sie auch irgendwie authentisch gemacht. Ich heiße das zwar nicht gut, sehe aber wie menschlich das letztendlich ist. Fehler passieren, auch wenn sie sich wie der Weltuntergang anfühlen. Sam ist wirklich so süß und das von Anfang an. Irgendwie konnte ich nicht anders, als mich auch in seine liebenswerte Art zu verlieben. Zwischendrin hat er ebenfalls einige Fehler gemacht, die mich ein kleines bisschen von ihm enttäuscht haben, wodurch das Unperfekte aber deutlich geworden ist. Einzig und allein sein Geständnis am Ende hat mich etwas gestört. Letztendlich hätte man vielleicht nicht so viele Jahre verlieren müssen. Aber wie bereits schon gesagt: Menschen machen Fehler und genau deswegen fand ich es auch so gut. Der Schreibstil hat mich ebenfalls absolut mitgerissen. Das war mein erstes Buch von Carley und definitiv nicht mein letztes. Es gab so viel Spannung und obwohl klar ist wie es verläuft, habe ich doch manchmal gezweifelt, ob es nicht anders laufen könnte und gerade mit den Zwischensituationen habe ich bis kurz davor nicht gerechnet. Dieses Buch ist definitiv ein Highlight geworden und eine sommerliche Leseempfehlung für euch.

Eines der besten Liebesromane, die ich seit Langem gelesen habe. Unglaublich schwer aus der Hand zu legen. Eine großartige Liebesgeschichte und perfekt für den Sommer oder wenn man einfach dieses Sommergefühl sucht!

The perfect mix of summer, friendship and love. The vibes were magical: swimming at the lake, warm evenings, all the emotions and the kind of love and friendship drama that stays with you long after the last page. Yes, a little predictable at times — but that didn't bother me here tbh. I devoured it and wished it was longer, because I just didn't want it to end. ☀️ An unforgettable summer read — light, emotional & simply breathtaking! And as a true Charlie fan... Percy and Sam become best friends at thirteen years old and spend every holiday together. A beautiful love story develops as the grow up with its twists and turns. Even though I hated the big plot twist, I still loved the book. I actually became a bit obsessed with Sam myself . I couldn’t put this book down and it was the perfect summer read.
