Charlie and Cass would do absolutely everything for each other - even swapping lifes when one of them is in trouble. But from trouble comes even more trouble. Of course love has to be involved and is making everything even more complicated than it was before. The twins are having a pretty hard time pretending to be the other one, but they master their situations nearly perfect, until everything goes wrong. It just had to happen. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of holiday love stories, I really loved this book and would recommend reading it!

„The Holiday Swap“ feels kind of like a grown-up version of „The Parent Trap“, in which two identical twin sisters swap lives for a week to help each other out. After an unfortunate accident on the set of her baking show, Charlie Goodwin loses her ability to taste and smell. Not wanting to forfeit an upcoming promotion, she asks her twin sister, who’s also a baker, to swap lives for a week. Cass is to make sure Charlie gets that promotion and Charlie promises to manage their family’s bakery in return. Among other things, they soon realize that switching lives isn’t as easy as it used to be back when they were kids, though… „The Holiday Swap“ was exactly the kind of book I needed to read right now. It is a fun and sweet romance, set during the last days leading up to Christmas. I loved both Charlie and Cass and it was rather entertaining to witness them trying to live each other’s lives. Cass definitely has to leave her comfort zone and it was great to see how difficult that is for her but also how much she grows because of it. Charlie on the other hand learns to appreciate how hard a worker her sister is and also finds the time to reflect on what she really wants out of life. Of course, there are also a couple of love stories in this book which I cannot leave unmentioned. Both love interests are very likeable, accommodating and sweet men and it’s fun to see the couples‘ relationships unfold, especially under the circumstances. Last but not least, let me issue a „warning“: Do not read this book on an empty stomach. All the talk about food is inevitably going to make you ravenous. All in all, I enjoyed „The Christmas Swap“ a lot. It is a fun feel-good romance that’s equally entertaining and heart-warming. If you, like me, enjoy the occasional predictable, fluffy read with a lot of heart, this is the perfect book for you.
