Fun and well thought out fantasy book with sort of a found family

What I liked most about this fantasy novel were both the worldbuilding (think: medieval setting with people of different ethnicities and religions, of course there are monsters and other magical beings, the magic system isn't too thoroughly explained but I thought the story was well thought out nevertheless) and the characters: a found family of a fierce and curious pirate's daughter, a snarky, clever assassin, a huge immortal, a young squire with a heart of gold and a weirdly wise witch. Their enemies: a brutal man who killed his own twin and wants to rule the world and a morally grey princess hungry for power. Expect lots of action, fun dialogues and banter, twists and fight scenes. Because it's a big boi and I'm sometimes a pretty slow reader, it took me pretty long to finish this book, but it's actually pretty gripping and well-paced. I'm definitely looking forward to the second book in the Realm Breaker trilogy!
